“Enough with projects, we need concrete actions” – Lotito raises his voice on sports.

Today, Lazio President Claudio Lotito made a statement, as reported by news agencies such as AdnKronos and LaPresse, during the “Stati Generali dello Sport” conference, organized by Forza Italia at the Chamber of Deputies.

Football: Sport is not just competition, fanfare, or entertainment; it is also a powerful educational and social tool.

In Italy, however, the sports system struggles to fully express this potential, hindered by bureaucracy, a lack of modern infrastructure, and regulations poorly suited to the sector’s real needs. It is in this context that Lazio’s President and Forza Italia Senator Claudio Lotito intervened during the conference, stressing the urgency of revitalizing Italian sports, starting with the construction of stadiums and facilities designed not just for matches, but as multifunctional spaces serving communities. According to Lotito, sports must once again be a vehicle for inclusion, legality, respect, and youth development, and this is only possible with concrete planning and differentiated regulations for professional and grassroots sports. “Sport trains the mind and nourishes the spirit,” he said, reiterating the educational value of sports, especially in an era where there are few educational references and spaces for socialization for young people. For Lotito, revitalizing sport means investing in the country’s social and cultural future.

Lotito – Italy needs a Marshall Plan for stadiums

Milan, May 5 (LaPresse) – “I proposed the new Lazio stadium, but with a service-oriented approach. A facility serving the community, a reference point where people can live 24 hours a day.”

This was stated by Lazio President Claudio Lotito at the “Stati Generali dello Sport” conference organized by Forza Italia at the Chamber of Deputies.

“It’s a way to also instill a culture of legality because if you live in a facility that is yours, you will protect it, and you won’t go to the stadium to cause damage worth 50-70 thousand euros every time. A violent fan is a criminal, and they should be treated as such,” he added.

“But all of this requires planning. The state needs to create a Marshall Plan for stadiums because in Italy, every municipality intervenes with thousands of bureaucratic hurdles, and stadiums never get built,” he declared.

Laws should distinguish between professionals and grassroots sports

Milan, May 5 (LaPresse) – Lazio “was a club with 550 million in debt, but today it has 300 million in real estate assets with a great organization,” said Claudio Lotito during the conference.

“In football, when I arrived, there was the elite of Italian entrepreneurship, from Agnelli to Berlusconi, but I have demonstrated that money isn’t everything,” he added. “But we must distinguish between grassroots sports and professional sports, with regulations suited to each,” Lotito stated. “It’s a mistake to create regulations that apply to both professionals and grassroots sports because the needs are different,” he explained. “Certainly, the state must promote grassroots sports, equipping schools with gyms, to prevent young people from going into the streets, with a social role in the community. But those who manage these issues must understand the problems,” he continued.

Lazio labeled as antisemitic, but agreement reached with Maccabi

Milan, May 5 (LaPresse) – “Lazio has always been labeled as an antisemitic team, but I have just signed an agreement with the Israeli team Maccabi because football is also about inclusion.”

This was stated by Lazio President Claudio Lotito at the “Stati Generali dello Sport” conference organized by Forza Italia at the Chamber of Deputies.

Lotito – “It’s useless to talk about projects, it’s time to get our hands dirty”

Rome, May 5 (Adnkronos) – “Now there’s a lack of respect for the rules of institutions, but the problems, in general, always stem from organizational issues, such as the construction of new sports facilities,” said Claudio Lotito, the President of Lazio and Senator of Forza Italia, during his speech.

Lotito – “A Marshall Plan is needed to relaunch it, including through stadiums”

Rome, May 5 (DIRE) – “The state must create a planning process, a real Marshall Plan for sports that also addresses stadiums. Today, due to numerous bureaucratic hurdles, these facilities risk never being built. We need effective solutions in terms of authorizations because the problems mainly arise in municipalities, which do not have the possibility to bypass certain regulations. We must have the courage to make decisions and move forward. To do this, it is necessary to distinguish between amateur and professional sports because the needs are different, and uniform regulations can cause harm. We must involve all components of sports, both professional and amateur, and implement specific, targeted interventions in the medium and long term,” said the Forza Italia senator.

“At the same time,” he continued, “institutions have the duty to promote grassroots sports. Today, many young people lack the educational chain that existed in the past, born from the alliance between schools, families, parishes, and communities. Sports are essential for regaining those values, starting with inclusion, teamwork, respect for others and the rules, merit, and combating any form of discrimination. With sports, you don’t just train the body, but also the mind and nourish the spirit. In this, football plays a key role. It’s no coincidence that football clubs at the amateur level are more widespread than the Carabinieri barracks in the country. We must value all of this, aware that sport is a powerful tool capable of engaging people through passion,” he concluded.
