Draw at Sinigaglia: Como – Venezia Ends 1-1
Como – Venezia, (1-1), this is how Serie A’s 28th matchday ends, played at the “Giuseppe Sinigaglia” stadium in Como.
Venezia has secured only three victories throughout the season and urgently needs a win to keep their hopes of survival alive. Di Francesco’s team is currently experiencing a good moment of confidence, as shown by recent draws against Lazio and Atalanta. With 18 points from 27 matches, Venezia is in second-to-last place, but a victory could bring them closer to Empoli, who are currently 4 points ahead.
For this match, Di Francesco lines up Maric as the center-forward, with Oristanio alongside him. In midfield, Duncan returns in place of Busio, while Zerbin and Ellertsson play on the wings, with Nicolussi Caviglia in a central role. In defense, Schingtienne pairs up with Idzes and Candé in front of Radu.
Como, on the other hand, will have to do without the suspended Kempf and Vojvoda. Butez starts in goal, while the young Fellipe Jack (born in 2006) makes his Serie A debut as a starter, alongside Goldaniga in defense. Valle wins the battle for the left-back position, while Smolcic plays on the right. In attack, Como lines up Strefezza, Diao, and Nico Paz as a false nine.
“This is a must-win game against Venezia,” said Como’s coach, Cesc Fabregas, in the pre-match press conference. After two crucial consecutive wins against Fiorentina and Napoli, Como lost their last match at the Olimpico against Roma and today will try to grab three points to close in on Genoa, who are 4 points ahead with one more game played.
OFFICIAL LINEUPS:
COMO (4-3-3): Butez – Smolcic, Goldaniga, Jack, Valle – Caqueret, Perrone, Da Cunha – Strefezza, Paz, Diao. Coach: Fabregas.

First Half:
The match between Como and Venezia ended 0-0 at halftime. Como controlled the early stages, with good possession and some dangerous actions, including a header from Smolcic that hit the post. However, the team lost some of its sharpness towards the end of the first half.
Venezia, despite difficulties, was dangerous on the counterattacks, with Butez making two great saves on shots from Duncan. Radu also responded well, denying a volley from Nico Paz.
Both teams had chances, but the goalkeepers were key. Venezia had to deal with two yellow cards in the opening minutes and might make some changes, while Como will need to maintain control of the game for the entire second half.
